Dining at Domenico’s Belmont Shore feels less like a routine meal and more like stepping into a living chapter of neighborhood culinary history. The experience balances old-school Italian comfort with a confident, well-executed menu that clearly understands its audience. The Chicken Alfredo Pizza is a standout, rich without excess, indulgent yet controlled. A velvety Alfredo base anchors the pie, carrying layers of savory chicken and a thoughtfully balanced cheese blend. It’s a dish that leans into decadence but stops just short of overreach, allowing each component to remain distinct. The backstory makes it even more compelling: the concept originated with Kyle’s father, the restaurant’s third owner, adding a personal, almost heirloom quality to the dish. The Margherita Pizza offers a contrasting but equally impressive expression of restraint. Bright, clean tomato notes, fresh mozzarella, and basil come together in a way that highlights ingredient integrity over embellishment. It’s a classic done right-crisp crust, proper char, and a finish that feels intentional rather than nostalgic for nostalgia’s sake. Dessert seals the deal. The Tiramisu is textbook in execution: light yet luscious, with a balanced espresso presence and a mascarpone layer that’s airy rather than heavy. It’s the kind of dessert that quietly signals a kitchen that respects fundamentals. Adding to the intrigue is the restaurant’s lore, an oft-shared story that the original owner reportedly lost the establishment to the second owner in a bet. Whether apocryphal or not, it lends Domenico’s an almost mythic charm, reinforcing the sense that this is a place shaped as much by stories as by recipes. Bottom line: Domenico’s Belmont Shore delivers polished comfort food with depth, history, and heart. It’s a restaurant that knows where it came from, understands what it does well, and executes with confidence. No reinvention necessary.

We came here for a last-minute birthday dinner. Completely blown away! From the amazing service, to the quaint dining area, to the perfect entrees, I am so impressed. We had the chicken piccata and the chicken marsala. They could not have been better! I’ve had a lot of tiramisu in my life, and this is probably the most creamy flavorful one I’ve ever had! I am not exaggerating just because the perfectly pared wine is now hitting. Our server was so helpful with the menu. Then Kyle (the owner) came to our table and made us feel even more special. I will definitely be back. This will be my go to place in Long Beach. Love.
Coming home after my first trip to Italy was… something. It was difficult not to crave authentic Italian food. My next best option? A restaurant in my hometown that I had always passed by but never visited — until the time was right: Domenico’s. The moment I walked in, I sensed this place would become one of my favorite spots — a way to keep Italy close to my heart (and stomach). The focaccia was a wonderful surprise. The first few times I had it were in Italy, so biting into that spongy, savory bread again felt like a warm “welcome back.” And that was just the start. The appetizers were divine — in taste, portion, and price. Once, when my favorite wine wasn’t in stock, the staff turned it into a mini wine tasting adventure until it was. As for the tiramisu… I wouldn’t die for it, but I’d absolutely k- for it. Oh, and the waiters? Amazing. Friendly, fast, and genuinely cool. The place probably remembers me as the solo diner with the cool hair, always smiling — and the only one who paid with Apple Pay instead of a card. I haven’t been back since I moved away, but the next time I’m in town, I will be stopping by. And maybe this time, I won’t keep this hidden gem to myself.
Kara, the gentleman server we had before her.. didnt get his name before he went home...and the rest of the staff was magnificent. Very knowledgeable and great recommendations. I was able to create my very own amazing creation!!! The accommodation is much appreciated. Highly recommend eating here!!
Domenico’s never disappoints. I ordered the house-made gnocchi with basil cream sauce, and it was absolutely incredible— pillowy, rich, and perfectly balanced. The atmosphere is classic and welcoming. I appreciate establishments that take pride in their craft, and Domenico’s does exactly that. Highly recommend if you’re in Long Beach and craving a comforting, elevated Italian meal. I’ll definitely be back.
My husband wanted to have Linguini and clams in red sauce so after looking at several options we chose this one! Domenico's went above and beyond our expectations! From Decor, to staff, too food and ambiance. We started with the fresh made bread and sauce, delicious French onion soup, shared a plate salad with homemade garlic dressing, and then I had the most delicious Chicken Picata I've ever experienced! My husband enjoyed his Linguini and clams with red sauce to the last drop! He wanted to go back the next night! We finished our lovely dinner with a complimentary yummy Tiramisu! Our server Shandavy was so fun and knowledgeable of the menu and tourist attractions. She made the evening so much fun! Thank you for going above and beyond our expectations
First time here and it immediately felt like a cozy family style restaurant. The food was perfect (pizza, french onion soup, pasta dish, salads) and they had a great wine selection. Carla, our server was courteous and provided excellent service. Mike, the manager, came over and spoke with us since it was our first time visiting, and brought us their famous tiramisu - which was the best I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend and will be back!
Absolutely outstanding! By far the most delicious Italian food I've ever tasted continues to be served here. Having also dined in Rome, Italy, I can say that. What a true gem. I've been lucky enough to have grown up a block away so I've been dining there nearly 42 years now. It's great to know they are still there and doing well
